Dale grew up ice skating in Birmingham, Alabama. His Mother Judy Campbell was the Director of the Birmingham School of Ice Skating. He competed in Figures, Freestyle, Dance and Pairs from 1977-1987. He has trained under Master Rated, Triple Gold Medalist, Jim Tester, ISIA Founder Robert Unger, National Champion Tim Zink, Kenneth Langley, and John Whitten. He also attended summer training camps in Sun Valley, Idaho and took lessons from Olympian Scott Hamilton, as well as David and Jimmie Santee. In 1988 Dale joined the US Army where he continues to serve today. He also taught American and Italian skating students from 1994-1997 when he was stationed in Vicenza Italy. Currently available for coaching skaters from Basic Skills to Novice competitive athletes. He specializes in Freestyle, Jump Harness, and power skating.
